Inspiration

We have spent years searching through dusty trays in traders’ rooms across West Africa, looking for beads that carry a different kind of energy. These are Krobo beads (ลูกปัด โครโบ) — hand-painted recycled glass beads from Ghana, made by the Krobo people who have practiced this craft for generations. What moves us is not just the color, but the story coded inside each pattern: dots that represent abundance, waves that carry the rhythm of ceremony, eyes that ward off harm. When we finally held these beads together — the reds that shout, the blues that deepen, the whites that sing against everything — we knew this was not something we designed. It was something we witnessed. Each bracelet is assembled by hand, one bead at a time, with small brass spacers and a brass bell charm that chimes softly as you move.

“Varna Krida” draws from Sanskrit and Pali: Varna (วรรณ) means color, light, and luminous quality; Krida (กรีฑา) means joyful movement and celebration. Together, they name what these beads truly are — color set free, dancing on the wrist.
